I felt a bit lost without Mother being around.  She is visiting Sister #2 this week.  I think the crazy weather was getting to her and she needed a change from her regular routine.  She will enjoy her stay and have stories to tell me when I see her next weekend.  I love seeing the excitement in her eyes as she tells me all the details.  🙂

Anyway, thinking of her and missing her company, I decided to create some happy snail mail.  I pulled out a few of my supplies that are piled up in my Etsy shop office and came up with this.

The floral page is from the 2015 Studio Series by Peter Pauper Inc..  I used fine point Sharpie permanent markers to make it bright and color-full.  My husband had given me this artist’s coloring book of detailed designs and various types of markers as a gift.  He knows me so well.  🙂

On the envelope I used Color Box wicked black, acid-free archival dye, a 2001 Stampin’ Up Year-Around Cheer flower stamp, and added a couple hues with Zig pigment ink and a fine Sharpie pen.  I used a small punch to cut out the two heart embellishments which I added to the plain sheet of green memo paper with Zig acid-free 2 way glue.  I will use this to write Mother a short cheer-full note.

The three hearts were cut from a scrap Valentine’s card and outlined in pink.  This will be attached to the back of the envelope.

The squirrel is a free image from The Graphics Fairy where they offer lots of vintage images and crafty projects.  I suggest all crafters and home decorators visit this site.

Mother has a love of flowers, vivid colors, and squirrels.  🙂   I hope receiving these bits of creativity will bring a small, happy surprise to her day…
