I have been going through totes slowly, but surely, with a goal in mind to find new homes for the majority of the items we have collected over the years. We decided the items we did not choose to keep would be listed at our shop TavinsChoice, on Etsy, or be put back in totes for a huge family and neighborhood yard sale this summer. So, on this dreary, wet day, we decided to take a couple totes to Mother’s, which is a nice little drive away. It rained off and on the whole day. I was definitely not dressed for the chill of the wind as I unloaded the car and started my stacks of neatly labeled “Yard Sale” totes. I was shivering by the time I was through, and of course, Mother was ready for “her day” of weekly visiting. 🙂
Our first stop, was to visit her brother. My uncle is always so happy to see Mother. They are close in age and lived near each other most of their lives. He would do anything he possibly could to be of help to her and has. His kindness has been greatly appreciated these last few years and I will always be thankful to have him to call my uncle.
Our second stop was at my sister’s. She was expecting us. We were greeted at the door with huge hugs and kisses! Coffee was served to take the chill off. Also, a plate of delicious chocolate donuts with chocolate icing was handed to us. Perfect! Sugar and caffeine…just what we needed…blissful! We had a wonderful visit with her and my brother-in-law. Spending time, unhurried, chatting, and laughing. That is what life is about…enjoying people you love.
Our next stop, Goodwill. Yes, even with all the full totes that I have been working on so diligently, I talked Mother into a quick walk-thru. Guess what I found? Two lovely items that will be added to my personal collection.
The journal is sturdy and small enough to put in my bag to write my thoughts in at random. It is from The Ana Grace Collection and appealed to me. I have a love for journals. I admit that I do not journal on paper, but have every intention of starting. 😉
The second item is a lovely three strand bracelet with green stones. The varied shades of colors are what caught my eye. I have no idea what type of stones they are but that is not as important as the happiness I felt when I tried it on. It actually fit my small wrist! I love it!
The last stop was home of course. We were tired, but pleased with this days adventures.
Enjoy the small, “random adventures” of everyday life!!!
